There is nothing that can take away the emotional hurt and trauma that families face after a murder of a loved one, not even the death penalty.
I believe the death penality should be banned. Death is easy and a quick escape route for the these death row inmates. I dont' see any type death penalty as being a detourrant for murder and other heinous crimes that have been committed. If it were so, don't you think we'd see a decrease in our inmate population? Most of these criminals wear time in prison as a badge of honor and look forward to the day they sit on Death Row. Frankly, most of your murderers want to die. What a shocker it would be when they don't get the quick escape of a good predictable painless death. Unlike their victims, these murderers actually get to know when they are going to die. Ironic!
Murderers need to sit in jail and not have any of the comforts of home. They need to be living a tiny 3 x 5 cell or smaller with black blank walls without windows for the rest of their life and not be allowed to communicate at all with the outside world. They should live in absolute silence. They should never be spoken to and if they are, they should be basic commands like stand, eat, bathroom, drink. They should eat the same diet for the rest of their lives. They should be chained at the feet and arms if they go outside their cell. They should have absolutely no other human rights than to breathe, go to the bathroom and eat. That is all. I would like to hear why they shouldn't live like this. They are animals without conscious, dangerous humans that have taken valuable human life without any remorse. Remorse? There is no such thing as remorse in a murderer. When these murderers suddenly become religious, well good for them. They now will have plenty of time to pray in their dark tiny cell and repent if they have a conscience. These murderers need to be reminded every day by saying the name of the person that they killed and how and why they did it. Inmates get too many distractions while sitting in prison.
Why our system allows for the cable television and comforts of home while they wait to sit on Death Row is beyond my comprehension. Our hard earned tax dollars give the too much money to roam in their comfy cells with all the comforts of home. They get plenty of diverse food to eat., plenty of exercise and plenty of cigarette breaks. I hope they banned cigarette smoking within the prison grounds. No wonder so many are going to jail. They get 3 to 4 meals a day and plenty of relaxation. You would be appalled how well these people live in the prison system.
We need to take the Death Penalty out of the picture and replace it with minimal existence and barely any quality of life that do not conflict with human rights issues. Why should prisoners have human rights? If they should it should be minimal.
For as much violence that is taught on the media and is now practically almost a social norm in our American society, it should be banned. I find that violence in our media is just the height of pure capitalism and creates the criminals of today. It's practically shoved down the throats of young people through all forms of media. I find it abhorrent and I wish parents would pay attention to what is acceptable in this life. There just isn't any excuse for violence in any manner, not for any amount of money and we should be ashamed of ourselves for subscrbing to it. Please, don't desensitize your children.
