In a dark cold winter's night sky ,
the stars shine like diamonds ,
but in the corner of my eye,
I notice one as it fiery descends.
I travelled miles and miles ,
to see where it now lay ,
to find it's burning light ,
I'll let all my fears decay.
After weeks and weeks of searching,
I found him bathing on the grass ,
the significance of my discovery,
In my mind I still failed to grasp.
He looked at me,
with a bright white light behind his eyes ,
and in an instant i saw my souls counterpoint ,
and my untimely demise.
He took my hand,
and led me to the river ,
the moon light illuminating
his face with a glimmer.
I stood mesmerised and still,
unable to leave ,
when his lips touched mine,
I could hardly breathe.
In the eternity of that kiss ,
I saw our life together ,
when we broke lips again
I knew i wouldn't see it , not ever.
He turned away ,
telling me to go ,
I begged him to take me with him ;
he softly whispered no.
He turned back to face me,
with his hand he touched my face,
his skin burning like fire ,
as I foresaw the pain in my heart's true desire.
He slowly left me ,
the smell of sulphur in the air,
I'm now damned for eternity,
but I just don't care.
When I miss him,
I sit and stare at the sun,
I think about that single kiss ;
and remember what it feels like to burn.
