Do two wrongs make a right? I can remember at a very early age in my childhood, my Dad saying, "Don't you know two wrongs never does make a right? At the time, I thought he was only being caddy by saying it, but as I have matured, I know exactly what he meant and why he said it? He would often say to us children also, "If Johnny jumped off of a bridge would you follow him, and I thought that was a real stupid thing for Dad to ask us, but I've learned in life that we cannot follow someone over a cliff either just because they are doing it. When my Dad spoke to us, he wanted us to see where he was coming from and he wanted us to know that if someone chose to make mistakes in their life that we did not have to follow suit.
"We," as adults, know by making two wrongs, it certainly doesn't make a right, it only gets a person deeper in trouble. All mistakes we make in our lives should be a learning tool for us and we should watch not to get burned twice. People are suppose to learn from their mistakes and they shouldn't turn around and commit the same wrongs again.
Many people make the same mistakes over and over again until eventually it causes them some sort of a serious situation. If there is a handicap sign indicating for "Handicap Only," and you openly pull into that parking spot, park your car and leave it there for the day without a handicap sticker or handicap plate displayed then you know you made a serious mistake and you should have received a ticket from it. If you just happen to slide by and not get a ticket, you'll repeat that same mistake again. You think, "Hey, I got by with it I'll try it again," but when you return to your car this time, there's a hefty ticket waiting to be paid.
When we choose to do something that we know is wrong, we should be punished for it. It's like when a parent warns their children not to go to the stream and go in swimming and they do it anyway and something terrible happens that one of the children gets drowned, you are aware that you made a terrible mistake and if you had listened Mary Doe would still be alive. Many times when people do things that they know is wrong, then they have to suffer the consequences for whatever happened and many times one mistake can last a person a lifetime.
Many people say, "We learn from our mistakes," but when the mistake have been continually abused and a terrible mistake happens, I believe it is the responsibly of that person to receive whatever penalty comes his/her way because they were warned and continued to make the same mistake over and over again. We must remember people, our mistakes will come back to haunt us if we continue to make them. "NO, two wrongs does not make a right?
