The recent increase in natural disasters is not God's judgement. It is the natural order of the planet and the intervention of the human species that cause such disasters. While humans have a large effect on the earth, most of the natural disasters that have occurred up to date have because of the Earth's, as well as the galaxy's, natural cycle.
To fully grasp the ladder concept, we must first tackle the delusion of God's judgement. Declaring certain events as being judgements sent from an all omniscient being in the sky strips all responsibility from humanity. God, in this way, is the "scape-goat" of modern society. When a baby is born with the HIV virus, is it God's decision to end its life before it even begins to experience it? No, it is because the decision that parents of that child made. In Africa, children are born with the virus every day: not because God damns the child before it is even born, but because the parents most likely had sex with others who had the virus without the use of contraceptives. Was it God's judgement to destroy the lives of the thousands of victims of the September 11th attack on the Twin Towers? No, God did not judge that thousands of people, most of who were christian or catholic, die in the name of Islam for the rival god Allah. How can I support this? Just look at the first twocommandments:
"And God spoke all these words, saying: 'I am the LORD your God ONE: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.' TWO: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image-any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth." Th is proves that God, being the celestial dictator he is portrayed to be in the bible, would never murder his own people in the name of another god. It was men who caused the attack on 9/11 for their own reasons. In their eyes, it was the Holy thing to do. If you kill and infidel in their religion, they go to heaven where many gifts await them. Thats another debate.
Back to my main point, we are responsible for our own actions and our own products. If we chose to drink during pregnancy, we are to expect malformation of the baby, not because God judges it, but because that is the cause and effect relationship of such actions.
As for the natural disasters, humanity and nature itself are the causes. I would first like to comment on the lesser threat, humanity. As humans, we are responsible for our actions and
