If you are tired of wondering how coffee is adversly affecting your health, you have the jitters all day from the six cups it takes you to wake up, and you are sick of spending far too much money each week at Starbucks, try a cup of Green Tea for a change!
I started drinking hot teas this past year. I decided it would probably be better, healthwise, than coffee, and man, was I spending too much at Starbucks each week.
The switch has been amazing, and now I don't know what I would do without my Green Tea, sweetened to perfection with honey and sugar, every morning. I've enjoyed it so much that in a typical day, I now drink between 3 and 5 cups! And I don't have to feel bad about it because tea, especially Green Tea has wonderful health benefits. Here are just a few:
-It is used to treat impaired immune function.
-It is used for treatment and prevention of cancer.
-It is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and cardiovascular diseases.
-It is used to treat multiple sclerosis.
-It is used to raise the metabolism and increase fat oxidation. In other words, great for losing weight!
-Drinking green tea inhibits the growth of certain cancer cells, reduces the level of cholesterol in blood, improves the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol.
-Some researches show that, drinking green tea regularly may help prevent tooth decay by killing the bacteria which causes the plaque on your teeth. Good to know, since I just noticed my first cavity...
-The antioxidants in green tea promote overall cell health. This means that in addition to helping with heart disease, Parkinson's Disease, Alzeihmer's, multiple sclerosis, and other diseases, it also helps to promote healthy cells in other areas, such as your skin cells. Therefore, drinking green tea could help you look younger, as smooth, young looking skin relies on healthy, plump, living cells.
-Green Tea doesn't have nearly as much caffeine as coffee.
These are all fantastic reasons to give Starbucks and Maxwell House a rest, and try some natural green leaves instead. Green tea has been used for centuries by the Chinese, and has been known to treat and cure many ailments worldwide, in addition to making a person healthier day to day.
So tomorrow, instead of your hot cup of coffee to jolt your senses awake, try a soothing cup of hot tea, and you'll be surprised at how much better you'll start to feel! I know I'm addicted!
