The Best Free Online Websites To Find A New Job In This Struggling Economy

Here is a list of the best free online websites to find a new job in this struggling economy. All of the sites listed are free and easy to use. You will find many more positions listed on these sites than what you will find on Monster.com or CareerBuilder.com

Indeed.com

Indeed.com is a great free website to find online job postings. Indeed.com's search engines will search millions of job postings. This site searches all of the major job boards and newspapers. The search engine also searches the career and open positions pages from company websites. Your customized search can be set up as an email notification so you will know about new positions as soon as they are posted. Indeed.com has the option to set up an individual account so you can manage your job searches and save jobs that you are interested in.

SimplyHired.com

SimplyHired is another excellent free online job site and very similar to Indeed.com. SimplyHired.com's search engines will also search through millions of job posting from the major online job sites, such as CareerBuilder, Monster and Hot Jobs. In addition, SimplyHired.com also searches the career pages of company websites and publications. SimplyHired gives the option to create a personal account to manage your keyword searches and save the jobs you have applied or may want to apply for later.

AmericanJobs.com

AmericanJobs.com is a free online job site that lists millions of jobs from employer websites and the major and smaller niche job boards. This site requires a user to be registered to search for open positions and registration is free. A simple keyword search and location will result in hundreds of jobs from individual companies that are not listed on the major online job boards.

LinkedIn.com

LinkedIn.com is a free social networking site for business professionals. You can create a professional profile including your employment history and achievements. You can build your profile by adding professional contacts and requesting recommendations from former colleagues. The site has a job search function that is powered by SimplyHired.com. In addition, many jobs are posted by hiring managers in the various LinkedIn Groups that are also free to join.

Craigslist.com

Craigslist.com is another free website that has thousands of job postings throughout the county. Job postings are just one of the many categories on Craigslist. There are also categories for community, housing, personals, discussions and for sale items. All postings are similar whether it is a job posting or a posting to rent an apartment. Therefore, there is usually very little information about the position, but there is always a reply to or email address to send a resume. Even though this site doesn't have all of the bells and whistles of the major sites, you can find a lot of great positions that are posted by recruiters in your area.
