Introduction to cooking in Runescape

by Bob Bobert

Created on: February 22, 2009

Ahhh... The smell of sharks in the morning with some cooked sea turtle. WAIT? What? Yes, in runescape there are weird and odd foods that can be made, by the skill we call cooking. Runescape has had skills like fishing, mining, and smithing in the beginning of when it was made, but what about cooking? Cooking was one of the first skills ever made for runescape, and perhaps one of the most important. It's tied to many of the skills, like combat, magic, ranging, firemaking, hitpoints, fishing, construction, and many others. You can make things like exotic fish, pies, meat, stew, pizza, cake, snails, bread, potatos, wine, and other brews. As you can see, cooking is one of the biggest skills out there.

Fish: This is probably the simplest, and corresponds with fishing. You just simply take raw fish, whether it be salmon, eel, or manta ray. The next step is exactly the same with almost every single way of cooking. You go to a open fire, a oven, an enchanted fire or anyother fire source. NOTE: Furnaces for smithing do not work! Some of the eels and such need to be specially prepared.

Meat: This is also very simple, because of the way it is made. just like fish, you just need a fire and raw meat. This instead corresponds with combat, because to obtain the meat, it has to be from cows, rabbits, birds, chicken, and so forth.

Stew: For this, you will need a bowl, and first fill it with water. Then add your ingridients. If you were going to make normal stew, you would need a potato, and a cooked piece of meat. Curry, an exotic stew is made by just adding spices bought at the gnome stronghold. This is consumed in one bite, but not as famous as fish or meat because of the steps to make.

Pizza: These are perhaps one of the most famous besides fish and meat because of their ability to heal your hp a lot more with one inventory full then any fish because to consume one, it takes 2 bites. You first need to make a pizza base, made by mixing flour with water. Then, add tomato and cheese, with anything else like pinnaple, anchovies, meat, or maybe just plain.

Now that you have an introduction to the very essence to what keeps all alive in runescape, let me tell you whats installed for updates to cooking. Rice, miso soup, turkey, pig, and bore are just some of the things mentioned by moderators in the past times. So, instead of buying your food for your next pk mission, why not cook it yourself?
