As I girl growing up, I pictured what life held for me.
The perfect husband, beautiful home, loving family.
My dreams never became reality.
Abused and battered by the man I loved.
I couldn't tell anyone, out of fear and shame.
Nowhere to run to, nowhere to turn.
My dreams turned to nightmares.
I'm alone in this torture and fear.
He started hurting my children.
I knew things had to change.
I packed in the middle of the night
We had to escape his rage.

Alone in my pain
Alone in my fear
Can anyone hear me crying
Will anyone dry my tears
