How to make your hotel room feel like a home away from home

The only bad thing about traveling is that you begin to miss your home.

To make things feel more like home I suggest to bring some things along on vacation that will remind you of home, like a picture of someone who couldn't be with you. I also suggest that you try and find a hotel room with a kitchen so you can make your own meals. If you are going to be gone a long time you will get tired of eating out all of the time, and you can also make the trip more affordable with a bit of home cooking.

A hotel room can feel more like home once you've unpacked as well. If you're more of a messy person go ahead and leave a few things strewn about, what could it hurt. If you like to listen to music, go ahead as long as its not too loud, you don't want to meet your neighbors that way.

I would also recommend calling home to see how everyone is doing there, if that won't cheer you up, then nothing will. You can't miss your home if you are too busy, so see those sites, buy those treasures and have some fun, that's why you went in the first place, isn't it.

You might also want to consider traveling with a group of friends, it will make the whole trip feel more comfortable and help you to get better rates, or take turns in driving.

But, try as yo might, there's no place like home, and nothing like a great trip to make you appreciate it.
