China
Pre dawn stillness
Breathless, breeze blown mist from secretive bamboo forests
Inhaled
It's a part of us now
Tranquil spirits, spirited away
Mysterious mountain tops
Peaceful peaks shooting past the shoots
The night fades into day as black creates white
Eternity
Urban lights
Neon nights reflecting from freshly bathed asphalt
Luxury automobiles like predators eyes glow
Flying freeways leave red and white tracers
Traces of the past
Past the modern architecture
Court yards stand stoic in the night
Weeping willows crying in the wind
As families emerge hand in hand from the darkness
Contrast
White clouds exhaled by old men smoking wooden pipes
The young and the old collectively
Collecting their thought under low hanging street lights
Communities communally living
Small fires setting village corners alight
Casting embers into the heavens
Homage paid to ancestors never forgotten
Forgetting not the wisdom of the past
