Does Britain? - plan? - protect against? - terrorists?..... Of course it doesn't - and in fact, the question should have used the word 'appeasement' in its title, because this is the word that identifies this now insignifiquent country in the eyes of the majority of its indigenous population.

The IRA? What happened? Half of their leaders during the 'troubles' are now holding power in Northern Ireland...... appeasement don't you see.

Chamberlain, with that little bit of worthless paper in 1939..."Ooh it's Okay chaps, I've appeased Adolph (nice fellow actually) and he promised me he's only going to annexe Austria ....oh, and he might have a tiny little stroll into Norway whilst he's at it - but that doesn't matter at all does it - after all, it's 'Peace in Our Time'!

Et cetera, Et cetera.

We have never had any plan whatsoever for terrorist attacks, invasion - call it what you will. Well, that's not strictly true. After all Britain had the Home Guard during World War II, who were a spent force of geriatrics that was expected to repel the Nazi's once they had crossed the English Channel. Dad's Army - remember?

What Britain does have however, are great strategies AFTER the event. This little island is the World's capital for telling its people that 'there are lessons to be learned', and when that wears thin the usual Committees and Enquiries - call them what you will - are set up. "This'll keep the Media off our backs", says Sir Humphrey Double-Barrel - Head of the Civil Service, and therefore the Ruler of Great Britain.....and it makes it seem, to the 'Great Unwashed' that Government 'cares' and is actively doing 'something'!

The average 'report-back' time is five years....... by which time most of us have either died or forgotten all about it - and the Politicians who called for these time-wasting tactics in the first place are well out of office and living the life of Riley on the money they have legally extorted ( a contradiction I know) from the Nation's taxpayer. And British politicians know this - because in their unwavering arrogance they presume their electorate to be stupid!

It pains me to say it but Britain has to be the most vulnerable target in the world -for any terrorist organisation. Our (supposed) Secret Services is riddled with Class snobbery ('which University did you go to Old Boy') and incompetence...... and, more importantly, they are beholden to the unelected morons holding power in Brussels. They are too busy arguing amongst themselves to concentrate
