No matter what hair type one has, there are always problems, problems that many people share, such as hair breakage.
Hair breakage is caused by a few different things. The most common cause for hair breakage is chemical treatments, such as hair dye, relaxers, or perms. More common causes are high heat treatments such as blow dryers, curling irons, and flat irons.
Hair breakage occurs when the hair thickens or weakens, which can happen at any point of length at the hair.
Whether it near the scalp or at the end, if it does so happen to be at the ends of ones hair it's referred to as "split-ends" Sometimes even wearing you hair up in ponytails can cause hair breakage. The tension and restrain that the hair tie puts on the hair can cause it to break creating "fly-aways" or strains of hair considerably shorter then the rest of your hair that are annoying to manage. This happens more frequently with thicker hair.
Here are some ways that one can prevent hair breakage:
1. Spread out hair treatments such as dying or relaxing and give your hair a chance to recover.
2. When using heat products such as curling irons and flat irons, which can dry out even the oiliest hair, use protection such as a thermal hair spray or serums that keep moister in your hair making it stronger.
3. Be sure to not over brush your hair with a thin bristle comb or brush, especially with thicker hair, it can cause very profound hair breakage.
4. Deep conditioning ones hair every week or to will revive ones hair so it stays strong throughout treatments.
5. Don't put too much strain on your hair too often, hairstyles are always fun and one can do them just keep in mind how often your twisting and pulling the hair.
6. Drinking enough water and getting enough minerals and vitamins will always help to keep hair strong through anything life throws at it.
Following these tips will surely help in making anyone's hair that much stronger and easier to work with. Hair care is just important as and other bodily care, so why not pay extra attention to it? If one wants beautiful, healthy, and strong hair, there are just a few things that need to be kept in mind and taken care of on a daily basis.
Hair damage is a preventable problem, sometimes harder to prevent with certain hair types but it isn't impossible. Ethnicity plays a factor of course because of the difference in hair thickness and texture as well as strength, but preventing hair breakage all comes down to the same science for everyone no matter what the hair type.
