Local Energy Policy Need

Energy policy needs to be local. Each area has it strengths and weaknesses and communities should use its strengths to provide low cost power to the area. A lot of the growth of our nation came from the vast land and resources available. The resources exceed the contents of the planet.

Defining Natural Energy

With examination of the local community, we harness whats available and to meet our personal needs. What remains strong to us might provide for our energy and offer our excess for areas in more need. A singular plan for the nation would limit the possibility to the circle of influence for an area devising a plan. The only national policy should be a mechanism for helping community maximize their own resources and bank others, Natural Resource Bank.

How to Examine Community

The process is two fold: what you need and what you have. You need to examine your weather to determine the level of heating and cooling needed. The transportation needs of the community and a realistic examination of whether or not options are feasible for the life style of the community. The second portion insists that citizens notice the natural energy in our environment.

Options

How much energy does it take to maintain the body's natural temperature? There is a source, the sun, which does it naturally for at least a few months of each year. Some may think it does it too well and want to cool the area. For years, many have imitated one of the earth's activities, wind, to provide the relief.

Wind is becoming a growing industry. Many of us express annoyance by the wind in our area, but we realize the energy that can move a car to a unintended location while traveling on the road needs harnessing. Many complain about the appearance of windmills, but they have gotten use to power poles. What does the power pole add to beauty of environment? Sometimes you look out to the horizon and it appears that the stars sparkle closer to the earth these days, but it is the sun bouncing off windmill blades. Waterfalls provide beauty, but the sound of water hitting each other makes us wonder how we catch that effort. Waterwheels have powered generators and ships through the years. Water provides means to provide renewable energy. The water remains for use day in and day out. Some may have fossil fuels that they want to use. Since they live with the consequences to the wildlife in the area, they should make those choices. Some have voiced alarmed by increases in wildlife stress from affecting lower geographic areas. Once who enjoy, depend or affect by behavior of the local wildlife should make those decisions. Last is the affect of previous decisions.

The twenty century brought a cold war that left the planet with a lot of spent nuclear fuel. Some areas are trying to clean these fuels up, but with a large half-life, this is a challenge. Is there a way to reuse these fuels? These communities might want to explore that question rather than live hundreds of generations with the consequences. The Natural Resource Bank might offer the best energy policy for the nation.
