If one was to take the current question and honestly give it a true moments thought, naturally there would be other questions that arise. I believe one of those questions would be, "Should we even be allowed to smoke?"

I am a smoker and have been for several years. I have watched and learnt of the hype for quite some time in regards to tobacco entering the mass production market, too it being embraced by the public and media and eventually becoming quite suspect to the scientific community which gave it its testing to come to the conclusion that it was indeed unhealthy. There is no doubt that for the many reasons that production of tobacco with a nicotine presence continued and still continues to this day.

We as a people have come a long way in a very short time. From one day being ridiculed about man flying, to jumbo's fleeting passengers all around the world. From having a pox virus running rapid world wide, too developing immunisations and thus reducing its threat level from an 8 to about a 2. Not only in the world of technology but in the world of medical science which grows ever increasingly stronger day by day.

It is medical science in particular in which has told us quite clearly without rhetoric that Tobacco products particularly smoke related are indeed detrimental to your health and that Nicotine is highly addictive. In fact on a scale of 1-10 Heroin would be a 9 along with other substances but nicotine would definitely be a 10. It is a substance that must be weaned from the body slowly over a long period of time and has just the same mental habits not following it with the detoxification.

The government is indeed concerned if there is an epidemic or equally dangerous situation that would prove deadly, well what about cigarettes? It is a known fact statistically that cigarettes are one of the biggest leaders in cause for cancer, it is also a known fact that the cigarettes we buy are filled with the most toxic of chemicals such as Hydrogen Cyanide and Benzene. Instead the government will applaud any public smoking ban or even order that public bars and clubs be a smoke free environment. They will even allow the anti-smoking lobbyists to post medical grade pictures or anatomy to depict the harms of cigarette smoking. Evidently, the nicotine patch business along with other quit smoking schemes seem to be doing quite well for themselves, thank you for the double whammy.

Many will argue that being allowed to smoke cigarettes is a freedom which the people enjoy
