FACING GLOBAL WARMING WITHOUT NUCLEAR POWER - IT CAN BE DONE!
How can we face global warming without nuclear power? The real question is why bother to face the threat of global warming if we keep making nuclear waste materials from which we cannot be free. Nuclear power is assisting global warming. There is no cure in using dangerous nuclear energy, made specifically for weaponry, more toys for the has-been war mongers.
It is not time for being right or wrong - it is life or death, and we must choose the ways that will do no damage, and stand no chance of getting out of hand if mis-used.
Every hundred thousand years or more, the earth cycles and shakes itself free. I'm sure the end of the dinosaurs was not from eating too many trees. But we can prolong the life of this planet as we know it by finding NEW ways to change the face of destruction. Scientists cannot fix one problem with another. I don't clean my kitchen counters with dirty water or bug spray.
We do not need nuclear power. It has never worked and it is not working now. We need clean energy - and I do not refer to clean fossil fuels. Give the men and women in the think tanks night and day a chance to heal this planet's atmosphere, not make it worse. This is not a question of "can we," but it is a matter of "we must." We must set aside the concept of nuclear power when facing the challenge of global warming.
The people who disagree may also be the people who think the environmental problems are just a way for left-wing radicals to use scare tactics on the old guard. Old guard, take your nuclear "power" and you weaponry and get out of the way! Let the people of today clean up the mess you made. I learned as a child to clean up after myself. You don't seem to have gotten the message.
Did it not make you wonder when two "antique" satellites hit? We have even added garbage to space. What is left to be proud of? I know the answer. I am proud of people who are trying to walk softly upon this earth and try to save it for the generations to come
Where does nuclear power begin to fit it? It doesn't.
Step aside and let wind farms and solar panels be built. Someone will get a job, cars will be cleaner, energy will be available to move water so we can survive. Luxuries may be a thing of the past, but survival need not be. Unless, of course, we decide to use nuclear technology and just blow the people off the planet. And that would be the end.
