Reactions to President Bush's 2007 state of the union address

Most level headed Americans were satisfied with the Presidents speech. They realize that this President has had to lead during trying times. What many others don't quite realize yet is that this era has only begun, in 2001. This President has charted a course for the nation that has the vision to look ahead at the future battles yet to be fought. He realizes that much of the world is in turmoil due to this Islamofacism and that they have succeeded in drawing us in. It is being thrust upon us not only involving us but making us the target. The big prize. The President wisely went into Iraq and eliminated a threat that definitely would have tried to hurt us. Saddam was cornered like a rat and would surely have used the jihad to his advantage to payback Washington and London. While the President has us in there, the rats have come out of their holes and bin laden himself has called Iraq the main front in his holy war.

It is no secret this is why we remain attack free since 9/11. The President and Tony Blair both know it's best to take the fight to your enemy. Bush has every reason to stabilize Iraq and hand off to the Democratic Iraqi leadership because he knows that his back will be covered as he moves on to Iran. Syria as well. Make no mistake, this has been the #1 reason for starting with Iraq. Bush has gone center square and believe me, the heat is on our enemies. He more than alluded to it in his speech when he said that we will have to clean up not only the terrorists but the bases they come from.

Be ready for the headlines and the news to spoil your coffee when you hear soon that we chased terrorists into Iran and went in right after them. Thats how it will start. Carrier groups are in place and special forces already have targets mapped out. This is what people must realize when the President talks about the war. Iraq, is not the war. Iraq is only a battle in the war. Same for Afghanistan. These are only early battles in a global war that may take decades. we did not ask to be attacked. We did not want this war. Still, we must prepare ourselves for the fact that the next few Presidents may have to be fighting this war.
