"Ye shall know the Truth and the Truth shall set you free." These words of Jesus let us know that if we are seeking Him, we can ask any question. Often He spoke in parables and used oral illustrations from daily life so His listeners could easily understand Him. Being very approachable, He never refused to answer a question asked by those followers who were seeking truth. The hypocritical religious sects of the day often questioned Him too- trying to trip Him up. Jesus answered those questions with a question of His own. This enraged them, as they had no answer.
As Christians we are free to ask Father any question. After all, He knows what is in our hearts. We may have to do a little digging, but we can always find the answer in His Word. The problem comes when we listen to the wrong answer. "Babylon" as used in the Bible means " babble or confusion". Unfortunately, today there are many Houses of God where babble is spewed out from the pulpit. Many times we may have questions, but the answer we receive leaves us more confused than before. Is it any wonder Gods sheep are spiritually starving? We listen to one or two Bible verses and then listen to a lot of trot. We take it as truth because we have never read the letter God wrote to us. Did you know if you hear one Bible verse a week it would take over 600 years to read the Book through?
Thank God for good churches where His Word is taught and not the traditions of men. Those will be the churches that are full. Feed the sheep and they will come.
Remember that there are some questions that God, for reasons of His own, may choose not to answer at this time. The answer will come but it will be in His timing- not ours. That is where faith comes in.
Moses, Abraham, Rahab, David, Deborah, Daniel- these are just a few of the men and women in the Bible who lived by faith. They trusted and obeyed God even though they couldn't see the answers and didn't receive the promise- in this lifetime.
What are these questions? One of the most common has to do with pain. Why does a loving God permit such suffering and pain? Be careful not to blame God.He never causes it but He may allow it. We live in a fallen world right now and things happen. But God will always bring good out of suffering if we let Him. Remember John Walsh of "America's Most Wanted"? His little boy Adam was brutally murdered and decapitated. John could have lived out his life filled with anger and bitterness, blaming God. Instead he put his energies into helping
