Poetry: Love is gone

by Tyrra Meserve

Created on: February 20, 2009

Pancakes for the goddesses

Means smiling in the rain

We're coming to the edge again

To stare right down the drain

I'm picking up her voice to hear

A whispered old refrain

We're sifting through the tears

Barely clinging to the sane

Following my heart leaves me

Still cleaning up the pain

We're dancing on the moon amidst

Broken glass and stain

I'd fallen for the purest blue

That only his attain

Listening to her break again

The miles now show our strain

Kissing life on darkened paths

Kings abused their reign

Queens are left to start anew

For heirs, not swallowing the shame.
