I never meant to leave you
With a long resounding Bye
I never meant to witness
The sorrow in your eyes
I never meant to sully
Your tender inner mind
To twist inside deep kisses
And jade your every time
I never meant to wound you
When all I wished to prove
Is how today's tomorrows
Was all we had to lose
I never meant to throw at you
All I have to show
The faces worn in battle
I wish you didn't know
I never meant to leave you
With insults to your pride
For once upon not long ago
I longed to be your bride.

Angry, red welts spread
