Two words and a dot. Priceline.com The best way to save money on a rental car is to name your own price. Priceline.com is just the ticket; even though they do have some pretty good competitors; They're deals are pretty fair.

And now is a better time than ever to get deals with them; because a lot of rental agencies are feeling the crisis crunch too. A couple of the companies have had to close their doors and most have reduced their inventory and the work force.

Priceline also, offers the complete package deal which includes the Hotel, airfare, and the rental car if you so choose. Don't be afraid to stick it too um!...a car that's rented cheap is better than a car not rented at all!

You can get 3 star hotel rooms for as little as $60 dollars. Full size rental cars for as little as $30 dollars!...Full and mid sized SUV's for a whopping $50 dollars a day.

They may tell you that you stand a better chance to get the vehicle for another price after your first bid... that's OK... that is standard procedure but stick to your guns!...and raise your bid a final $10 dollars and you will get the vehicle.

A parked vehicle and an empty hotel room is worthless to them, therefore, it benefits the consumer when this happens...and believe me it happens daily! Expedia .com is another good company to use. When companies compete consumers benefit. And that's the way it should be...but unfortunately some big name companies have cornered other markets...and they are way out of control! Companies like your cable company.

Tis the season to take advantage of the current crisis if you have a little extra cash to spend. When the crisis is over investing will go back to the norm. The deals are out there!

Also, rental car companies have special express lines for repeat customers; And for those customers who do not want to wait in lines or have to hassle with the normal rental process. If you travel alot it is very advantageous to apply for these options.

Additionally, it would be very beneficial to use agencies like priceline because... You can run into alot of trouble in a checkout line. When you make the reservation in advance, you can be in and out within a few minutes. Note: Always try to use a regular credit card for these transactions because debit cards will create an unwanted hassle when it is time for you to get your money back.

Some times the rental car agencies will not release your money for 7 to 10 days after you have returned the rental. You can just about imagine why that is....their fear is the money being removed before they are able to collect for the rental.

So if you can avoid it, do not make a reservation using a debit card.
