In life's journey, there are many dips and twists in the road. Some of the dips are rather deep, like the death of a family member, or a catastrophe of some sort. It is at these times of great pain, that we look to God for an answer as to why the event happened in the first place. We question God trying to deal with our own emotions, and the questions that come out circle to one main question...why me? It is at the periods of personal pain we tell God that He doesn't love us otherwise He wouldn't allow such times to come up in our lives, yet they do. We battle on until exhausted, we either surrender to Him or allow bitterness to take root in our lives. God does have the answer to any question that we have for Him. All we have to do is ask and pick up His Word the Bible.
God loves mankind and that was very evident after He created man. He not only gave Him a mate, but put them in a garden where they could live in good health forever. There was one, just one stipulation. That was not to eat of a certain tree. It was because of disobedience that man's problems of personal pain started. But it didn't begin this way and since it did, God showed how much He loved us by sending His only Son down to earth to die, so that the whole human race would have a chance of living eternally again with Him. Before Jesus died, he lived on the earth for 33 years and every trial and pain that man could go through, Jesus endured. Why? To show us that if we keep our hearts close to the Father, that we can overcome and be obedient to Him. This is all that God requires of us. To worship Him in spirit and in truth and be obedient to Him.
My oldest brother whom was near and dear to my heart past away recently. I was very angry and although I knew that this day would come, there were certain circumstances in our family that had over the years prevented me from having a relationship with him and my other 2 siblings. I always say that I have surrendered my life to God, but when this personal pain came and I allowed my emotions to overtake me, the Lord told me that I had not fully surrendered to Him. If I did then I would trust Him that He would work the situation out in HIS time. "After all, He said, Isn't that what you've been praying about?" Also I needed to follow His lead and not worry how it was going to end up. The Bible says in Psalms 37:7 that we are to be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him. Instead of seeking His face, I was in a sea of sorrow and anger because my brother had died and still things were not settled in my family. Angry of all the years that have past and been wasted, when was God going to move?
That is why we are to look to God in our personal pain because it is in these times, that He shows His strength in us. We are weaker, but He is stronger. We cannot go through these periods of pain without Him guiding and loving us through them. Yes we get through them, but it is only through the strength and love of our God and Father that brings us through. We can do nothing without Him and He, and only He receives the glory because it was in Him that we made it through the pain to a brighter day.
So it is in our best interest that whenever we are going through something that hurts so bad we don't know how we are going to make it, we seek Him. Asking Him for His love, guidance and strength to make it through until the pain is a gain.
