LT was a legit running back a couple years back. When he was at his peak, almost no one could bring him down. Then sadly he hurt his toe. This prevented him from cutting corners, something that he relied upon heavily to get his big yards. Now that his toe is healed he is still not back at his prime. My theory is that LT now plays cautious because he doesn't want to take risks. LT was indeed a good running back but he lacked many characteristics of Hall Of Fame backs, he is not consistent. He could not be considered to be in the same level as running backs like Barry Sanders or Walter Payton. Those men were some of the greatest athletes of their time and LT doesn't even come close. LT's career should start to come to a close, he is getting old and runs scared. New and emerging backs like Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson will be quick steal the spotlight. You can no longer consider LT the best running back in the game. You may however consider him one of the greatest. LT had a great career but this season he played almost at the same level as he did his rookie year. As said earlier, the best of the best are always consistent. LT has 28 touchdowns in 2006, 2007 he dropped to 15 and this season he only had 11. In 3 years he dropped 17. I know, I know, you cant expect someone to keep on increasing but 2 years with big decreases is a sure sign of inconsisitency. One thing that bothers fans is that LT has scored way more Touchdowns that Sanders, why is Sanders considered the greatest when LT has surpassed his stats in less seasons? The answer is becuase Sanders was the most elusive running back in the history of the NFL, he could run past you with his crazy speed or run right through you with his amazing strentgh. He was the perfect athlete, strong, fast, hard worker, disiplined and intelligent. LT is no doubt an amazing running back who many failed to stop, but another thing that stops LT from being considered the NFL's greatest is the fact that he has not won a Super Bowl Ring, he has not topped off his amazing career with a Super Bowl win for his team. You might say that this is a very unfair statement, that a man should not be held back if his team cannnot deliever him to the superbowl. And your right, one man cannot win a super bowl. So maybe fate plays a big role in denying LT a legit spot among great running backs but whatever the case, LT was a amazing NFL running back at his prime, what more could you ask for?
