Weddings are expensive and each passing year they become more and more expensive. Using Wal Mart and doing a lot of the work yourself is a great way to lessen those expenses. Your wedding will still be beautiful, however, it will cost a whole lot less. Start shopping and planning now for the June Bride.

Start with the rings. Prices range from as low as $35 for a simple plain wedding band to several thousand dollars for a very formal fancy engagement ring with a matching wedding band.

Invitations

Now go to the invitation aisle. If you have access to a printer you can actually make your own invitations and save tons of money. Wal Mart has a great selection of specialty invitations and you can always add your own embellishments. The set pictured is $21.96 for a set of 40.

Party Favors and Decorations

Don't forget some great party favors and decorations. Prices range according to what you purchase but start as low as $6.00 and go upwards from there.

Guest Books

A variety of guest books are available for as low as $10.00 or you could purchase a plain one and decorate it yourself. Either way you will be saving a lot of money.

Music

Pick out some beautiful CDs that will fit the mood. A huge selection is available over in Electronics. Prices vary from $9.99 upwards. Pick one out for the ceremony and a few for the reception.

Ring Bearer's Pillow

You can either purchase or make a ring bearers pillow. To purchase prices start as low as $9.99 and go upwards. You could also make one buying the fabric, filling and embellishments.

You may also consider the "bundle" package deal with the ring bearers pillow and a flower girl basket for $19.95. Either will be a beautiful addition to your wedding.

Dress

Yes, you can find either a pattern or a nice dress at Wal Mart. You won't find a formal wedding style dress but if you are handy with a needle and thread or know someone who is, consider purchasing a lovely pattern and fabric and for pennies on the dollar making your own wedding dress. Sorry guys, the Tux is your department.

Shoes

Class it up or class it down, Wal Mart has a great selection of inexpensive shoes to fit all tastes. Prices vary but can be found as low as $5.00 on clearance and as low as $10.00 at everyday prices. Prices can of course exceed these but not by much.

Cake

Some
Wal Marts have a bakery, for others, you will need to purchase cake pans, cake toppers and your own embellishments. Either way both are available and there for the choosing.

Which ever route you go you will not be disappointed. A huge selection awaits you.

Attendants Gifts

Don't forget your attendants. Stop in any department and pick up something elegant or simple for your attendants. You can spend as little as $5.00 or upwards to your hearts desire.

Flowers

Whether you want silk, paper or real flowers Wal Mart can help you. No, you won't be able to get a formal bouquet, but it is very simple and possible to create a gorgeous silk or paper bouquet and embellish it with a few real flowers. Don't forget boutonniere's for the men and smaller bouquets for the bridesmaids.

Unity Candle

Many weddings include Unity Candles. You can either create your own set or for about $28.00 you can purchase a pre made set or create your own.

Additional items might include but are not limited to:
Wine (for getting drunk enough to agree to wedding),
Reservations for wedding couple on wedding night,
Keep sake album for the wedding couple,
Photographer (perhaps you have a friend that is great with a camera or a camcorder).

Naturally the list could be endless, but for the basics, it can be done for under $500 (excluding rings if you go to the higher end of the financial scale).
