A midi file can be converted into an mp3 format using several different methods. This includes the use of a software converter, an audio recorder and an mp3 player. An mp3 file is the standard that is used for digital music files and can be played on most portable music devices.

One way in which to convert a midi file to an mp3 format is by using a piece of software that will convert the file. There are many converter programs that can be found searching the internet but they all perform the same basic function. They decode the audio from the midi file and then recode it into the mp3 file format. This conversion will result a new audio file that is the same quality as the original midi file. This is because there is no modification done during the conversion. These programs simply change the audio from one format to another. Any flaws or problems with a midi file will also be present in the new mp3.

Another method of converting an midi file to mp3 is to use audio recording software. One example of a good software product for recording audio is Audacity. This software will record the audio from any source connected to the computer running the program. The benefits of using this program include the ability to adjust the bit rate and sample rate to produce a better quality recording. Once an audio recoding project has been completed it can then be saved or exported as an mp3 file. Audacity itself is not setup to save an mp3 file. If any type of mp3 burning software has been installed Audacity should be able to save an mp3 file just fine.

One an midi has been converted to an mp3 it needs to have a software program installed in order to play the file. This can include Windows Media Player, Wimamp, iTunes or any other program that is designed to play digital music files. An mp3 file can also be transferred to a portable music or storage device. This includes a flash drive or the ever popular Ipod. An mp3 file has many advantages over that of an midi file. This is because a midi file needs special software in order to hear the audio just as an mp3 file does.

Converting an midi to an mp3 is fairly easy and has many benefits. Most portable music devices can play an mp3 file but not an midi file. The mp3 has become the standard format for digital audio file ans can be played by most portable music devices. The makes the mp3 are more suitable format for listening to audio files than a midi.
