Buzz Quiz TV is the 7th game in the Buzz series, and the first Buzz game in the series to be released on the Playstation 3. Buzz Quiz TV was released in July of 2008 in Europe, and followed with a North American release in September. It is the first game in the series to feature user created content. It is also the first in the series to feature wireless buzzers, as apposed to the wired buzzers that came with previous versions.
The game features nine different types of rounds which vary depending on the number of players. A single play game consists of three rounds of stop the clock, which gives you a certain amount of points for correct answers depending on the speed at which the player answers the question. When playing with 2-4 people locally, the game consists of seven rounds of action. There is Point Builder, where a player is awarded 250 points for each correct answer. In the Bomb
round, a player is selected at random to be given the bomb and must answer a question correctly to pass the bomb to the next player. The player unlucky enough to be holding the bomb when it explodes loses 300 points. In Fastest Finger, the player who answers the question in the least amount of time receives the most points and each subsequent correct answer by other players earns less points than the one before it. In Pie Fight, the first player to answer the question correctly gains control of a pie and must then must choose which player they want the pie to hit. Each player can be hit by two pies, after that they will be knocked out for that round. The only player left receives a points bonus. All players except the first player knocked out of the round recieve points. In Point Stealer the first player to answer correctly chooses another player to steal points from. For High Stakes, the topic of the next question will be displayed on-screen. Players must then decide how many points they wish to gamble that they will answer the question correctly. The game ends with The Final Countdown. Here, each player is on a raised podium which constantly moves towards the ground after a question is read. Players must answer the question correctly to stop their podium from dropping. Wrong answers cause the player's podium to drop sharply, while the fastest correct answer results in the podium moving back up slightly. The height that each player starts at depends on the number of points they have accumulated in the game. When a player's podium reaches the ground, that player is out. The winner
