Poetry: On love

by Tyrra Meserve

Created on: February 19, 2009

It floats, it teases, it whispers your name

It tingles, it taunts, its you just the same

It chimes then it stops, only silence remains

And I can't get you out of my mind.

A flash of your smile, then a ghost where you stood

A glimpse of your lips, if only I could

Kiss them once more would that render them good?

Still I can't get you out of my mind.

I see you on back-roads, on backstreets, in bars.

I see you on corners, on crossroads, in cars.

I've seen you with Hope, toss aside dreams and leave scars.

But I can't get you out of my mind.

I wanted to think that this wasn't the end.

That yours would be one soul that with my soul could blend.

That our win over chance's harsh world ripples would send.

I must have been out of my mind
