When we have a lot of different passwords on-line it is hard to remember them all. We need to choose passwords that we can remember easily.
1. Choose passwords that have meaning
If we choose passwords that have meaning to them, we are more likely to remember them. There are a lot of different passwords you could use that have meaning to them. You could use something related or significant to your kids, pets, favorite shows, favorite foods, or parents. The list could go on and on, there is a lot of different things in your life you could use.
To be on the safe side and choose strong passwords, they need to be a little different than just the name of your pet or favorite show. If you choose something easy like the name of your favorite television show, then other people could guess it easily. So instead of choosing "friends" because it is your favorite television show, add more to it. Let's say your Pet's name is "snookie", then you could use "snookiefriends". There are a lot of possibilities that you could do.
You could even choose the first three letters of someone's name and your name put together. The possibilities are endless. As long as the passwords have a significance to them then they are less likely to be forgotten.
If your worried about having the same password for every site, then you could add a letter or number to password for certain sites. Or you could use a totally different password but have the same meaning or significance. Even a totally different password that has a different meaning will work.
2. Choose a security question that you will know the answer to
Most sites have a security question in case you do forget your password. So choose a question and answer that you will remember. Try to keep this simple. If you must, you could keep this somewhere safe if you are really bad at remembering things. Most sites will e-mail you your password if you have forgotten it. Some sites will have you reset your password.
3. Keep your passwords (safe)
If we keep our passwords somewhere then even when we forget them, we will be able to find out what they are. Keep your passwords somewhere safe though, like a lock box. You could even save them on a document, but be careful that no one else has access to it.
You don't someone finding out what your password is and then be able to sign in to all of your sites. So if you keep your passwords somewhere, make sure they are safe. Either locked in a lock box or saved where no one will be able to access them.
