Thought become thing
Have you ever noticed how you would be thinking about
any special item or day dreaming about a project; and before you even know it you contemplate that object as being part of your life or find yourself embark in this project? Well, let me share one interesting adventure that I had many years ago. Eighteen months before my wedding date, I had drawn a wedding dress and had anticipated that I would wear it on my special day. Upon completion of my drawing, I had shown it to my mother; she thought that it was a very convoluted design. I had shared it with couple of my friends; they had all commented that my dress was very rare and it would be difficult to find, unless if I had a fashion designer made it up for me. I had totally disagreed and was convinced that I would have it despite all.
Approximately, six month later, I was engaged and to be wedded in twelve months. At that time, one of my mother's friends was in town visiting; she assured my mother that she would find that exact dress in New York. She spent the next six months searching for the dress throughout the Big Apple state, she did not find it. Finally, she proposed that she would buy all the materials and shipped them to me to have it sewed up. In the meantime, I had located a tailor specialized in wedding gowns. I waited six weeks and never heard from my mother's friend. It was then six months before my wedding date and I didn't even know what was I wearing? I then decided to purchase all materials and have my dress made up from scratch. Before buying anything, I scheduled an appointment with the tailor to discuss this idea one more time and ensure that the dress will be indeed ready on time. When I arrived at her office on that day, I met one of her customer who was very disappointed because her dress was not ready on time. She had to rent a dress at the last minute. She had come to obtain her refund. Petrified, I left her office and made the decision to rent a wedding dress as well. I didn't want to take the risk of spending money and time without having the guarantee that my dress would be ready promptly. I gave up my idea of wearing my dream dress and venture into looking for one to rent. During the next four weeks, I had visited countless establishments specialized in this type of service. I could not find a dress that enticed nor pleased me. It was then two months before my wedding. I was anxious, desperate, and ready to settle for anything.
Meanwhile, I had started a new
