The benefits of wedges rather than heeled shoes for women

"It's all about the wedge" is something I always say whenever I see a fierce pair of wedge-heeled shoes. I don't think there has been a decade when I didn't own a pair of wedges. As a child, my first pair of "high-heeled shoes" was a pair of wedge sandals. Whenever I go shoe shopping, I get excited just thinking about finding that perfect pair of wedge heels. Don't get me wrong, I love a nice spike-heel pump as much as anyone, but wedges hold a place near and dear to my heart, and I have several reasons why.

YOU ARE LESS LIKELY TO STUMBLE AND FALL IN WEDGES:

Ladies, admit that at one time or another we have stumbled, and in some cases, fallen due to high heeled shoes. The space between the sole of the shoe and the heel spike on high heel shoes can very easily get caught on anything, such as cords, wires, holes or cracks. This makes it even easier for you to lose your balance and fall flat on your face or posterior. As a result, you look like a klutz instead of a regal queen. However, when you wear a wedge, you don't have to worry about the heel getting stuck or tangled up in something, causing you to trip and fall. In fact, the wedge is the safest shoe to wear. Maybe the Surgeon General should endorse wedges as the safest high heel to wear!(Just wishful thinking) So, if you want the height and gracefulness that heels provide without falling on your face, purchase a pair of wedge heel shoes.

THEY CHANGE THE LOOK OF YOUR OUTFIT FROM SHARP TO CHIC:

Regular heels with jeans or a suit is the norm, but wedge heels with jeans or a suit looks fabulous! There is something about a wedge heel that makes any outfit stand out, and causes people to pay attention. One of the reasons why is that some wedge heels are one solid color, instead of the shoe having one color and the heel another. This unifies your outfit and creates a look that is very put together.

THEY LAST LONGER THAN REGULAR HEELS:

Wedges actually last longer than high heels, most likely because you don't scuff up the heel as easily. In addition, you are less likely to break the heel off, so you can get more mileage out of wedges than you can regular heels. This is very important benefit for the cost conscious shoe buyer.
These are the reasons I love wedge heels so much, and I hope that I have persuaded you to buy a pair if you don't already own some. Even though they have gone in and out of shoe fashion, for now the wedge heel is here to stay. Remember, it's all about the wedge!
