Short stories: Infatuation

Created on: February 18, 2009

The day was perfect, clear blue skies, temperature was mild and comfortable, what a beautiful day, Travis thought for his first field trip. Travis had just moved to Florida from N.Y. and had entered the 5th grade at his new elementary school. He was very excited at the thought of the opportunity to explore a park that was close to the ocean and to do this during school hours was a cool idea. So dressed in blue jean shorts and a short sleeve polo shirt he boarded the yellow school bus with his classmates to begin their adventurous day.

The school bus travelled east towards the beach on roads that Travis had not previously seen, so the sightseeing during the ride happened to be quite interesting and Travis's teacher pointed out some key points of interest along the way. The bus Travis was on was only full and there were a lot of open seats, the seat next to Travis happened to be open as he was seated next to the open window to view the sites along the bus's route. He thought to himself, how is it that I am going to let this opportunity slip away from me. "Sorry about your bus", Travis blurted out, then thought to himself, that's it, that's all you could come up with, wow you are suave. She did respond saying "thanks for letting me sit here", "What's your name?" Travis he replied and yours, "Patricia, this will be fun today, don't you think". Wow now he had to respond to a question from the opposite sex, it better be good, don't mess it up and say something stupid, he thought. "I just moved here from N.Y. so I am looking forward to seeing the beach." "That's cool", she said. I didn't mess it up she was still smiling at me. Now let me describe Patricia from a 10 year olds point of view. Patricia was slender as most girls from this era were, she had long sandy blonde hair to her waist which was hanging
