Working full time and homeschooling is very possible to do with the right techniques followed. It is through homeschooling that many parents find more freedom in the choices for education and their children. However, many parents wonder if it's possible to work full time and manage homeschooling as well. The good news is you can work full time and do homeschooling too. Time management, careful curriculum planning and coordinating babysitting schedules will help the most with working full time and homeschooling.
Time Management and Homeschooling
One key to successfully work full time and be able to participate in homeschooling is to have good time management skills. If you are weak in this area, you might consider taking a course at a local community college or a seminar on the Internet about time management. Using your time effectively while working full time and homeschooling is really important.
You will need to set it up so that your child is taught specific information during a set time. Then you will have time for the child to work independently and apply the knowledge that you gave to them during the lesson. While the child is working independently, you have time to attend to household responsibilities, get lunch ready or whatever it is that you need to do.
Careful Curriculum Planning and Homeschooling
One of the big fears with homeschooling and working full time is getting all the curriculum in that your child needs. Take time once a month to review the curriculum that needs to be covered with your child. Then break it down into a weekly schedule and then a daily schedule. This will make certain that your child stays on track with homeschooling and learns all that they should.
You will save a great deal of time in the long run by careful curriculum planning for your homeschooling time. Initially, it might take some time to break down the curriculum for homeschooling. After a few months of doing this, you will find that it's a breeze and really does help while managing homeschooling and working full time.
Coordinating Babysitting Schedules is Important for Homeschooling
Not all children that are homeschooled are old enough to be left alone without supervision. If you are working full time and homeschooling, there will be times that you will need someone to take care of the child while you are at work. You and your partner can work opposite shifts. You can consider having a babysitter come in part of the time. It's just important to coordinate babysitting schedules while you are homeschooling.
