An Open Letter From God
Hi it's me God, I know, I know, I don't call I don't write, but that doesn't mean I am not watching or listening. Oh and I have answered all of your prayers when asked, I may not have given the answer you requested but I did what I felt was best.
I have tried to give you guidance and then step back like a good parent and let you learn from your successes and mistakes. It appears now that perhaps I may have needed to give you just a little more preparation before letting you test your wings.
So here let me see if I can break it down in a language you all can understand.
You see I put you all here so that you could learn to love and respect each other, not in spite of, but because of your differences.
Oh I could have made it easy, made you all look the same, think the same, believe the same, love the same, but then where is the lesson in that?
You see I know that it's hard to overcome preconceptions and I know that many of you have tried to somehow determine what my message was and write it down for others to follow.
I wish that I had dictated it word for word, because it appears to have been translated into many meanings and the main goal muted or in some cases all but forgotten in the interpretations.
All I wanted you to do was learn how to love and respect each others differences, honor and care for each other and place yourselves no higher nor better than your neighbour. Sadly I see that has not happened to the fullest of my expectations.
So I thought I would pose some questions since I do want to honor my free will policy.
Did it never occur to you that the goal of each of you being different, was not to try and change people or make them into what you feel they should be, or love who you feel they should love, but rather to teach you that my love is none discriminatory and to live in my likeness means learning to love the same way?
Can you not see that respecting another's choices does not reflect on or render yours void,
where did that way of thinking come from I never taught you that?
I do not want to divide you but unite you. I do not favour one above the other. what kind of parent would I be if I did not love you all equally?
You must know there is no right or wrong way to speak with me, I hear all of you that choose to call on me by whatever name makes you feel comfortable, I consider myself progressive that way.
I must confess that I do not like the cruelties I see so evident, so many causing harm and emotional pain for such disconnected reasons, so very hard to see, especially those acts done in my name at that. It truly does sadden me.
Did you think that all this anger and divisiveness would make me happy?
Why is it so hard to believe that by allowing others to live their lives in no way takes away from yours, Why is it easier to hate instead of love? I did not teach you that either
I must admit though recently there has been cause for a tiny spark of optimism, after witnessing some rather startling changes, especially in the white house, imagine that and it only took you four hundred years to do it. So maybe there is hope for you yet, so I guess I could wait a little longer.
Just remember though I am watching
