How Michelle Obama is adjusting to life as first lady

Michelle Obama is facing huge responsibilities. Being the first black women to become First Lady of the United States will face tremendous scrutiny. Mrs. Obama has stated her first priority is her children. She wants to make sure her girls will not feel the pressure of being under the watchful eye of the press and all America. The Obama girls will have enough on their plates trying to adjust to the security they have to adjust to, the new school they are attending, moving into the White House and all the other changes happening in their lives.

The Obama's are lucky to have Michelle's mother to help with the girls. Having their grandmother with them in the White House will bring the entire family comfort, knowing the girls will always have family to attend to the children's needs the President and First Lady will be secure when it is necessary for them to leave Washington. The girls had a good opportunity to adjust to change during President Obama's champing, yet this is going to be isolating for the girls and it is wonderful that Michelle Obama plans to take care of the children's adjustment needs first.

Michelle Obama is an educated successful woman in her own right. Once she feels comfortable that her girls are comfortable, she will find causes she wants to focus. Mrs. Obama has already taken time to read to elementary school children. Her experience in community affairs may figure into some of the work she will concentrate. Whatever direction she chooses will benefit from her education and experiences she brings to any organization she chooses.

During the Presidential Campaign Mrs. Obama made a few missteps in wording a few of the statements she made, while on the campaign trail. Sadly, the press chastised her for some of the words she chose, which was unfair. How could anyone believe he or she would not make the same mistake while under such pressure? Mrs. Obama displays excellent morals. Raised in a blue collar, working class family, she understands what average the American faces on a daily basis.

Once the Obama's settle into the White House, the children are in their routine Michelle Obama will make a wonderful First Lady. She does have big shoes to fill; Jackie Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, Barbara, and Laura Bush to name a few were all wonderful First Ladies. When the time is right, Michelle will be a great First Lady, and a fantastic role model for all young girls who believe they can accomplish anything they want in life.
