Mother's Day is right around the corner and you're wondering once again what you can get for mom that she'll really enjoy. Have you considered a lovely gift basket? Gift baskets make wonderful gifts because they are full of goodies just for the recipient. After she is done unloading her gifts, the basket is a gift unto itself. You can purchase many of them ready-made or you can make them yourself, which allows them to be more personal.

~For the mom who is an avid reader, you might put in a couple of the newest bestsellers, a nice pair of pajamas and some cozy slippers, a coffee mug or tea cup, and a pretty reading lamp.

~For the mom who enjoys nothing more than sinking into a tub full of bubbles and soaking peacefully for an hour or so, a bath basket will be a real treat! You could include some nice bubble bath, matching scented candles, a book or magazine, a fluffy bathrobe, and a loofah. She will love it!

~The mom who writes will be thrilled to receive your basket full of writing utensils, paper, a journal, and a nice pair of writing slippers. She will be inspired simply because she is so excited to use her new things.

~Are you the child of a mother who loves to cook? Your basket could be filled with new kitchen utensils, a cookbook, pretty potholders, a recipe box with cards, and an apron.

~The craft-loving mom would love to get a basket filled with supplies to use on her hobby. Depending on the particular craft, there will be different items you can fill your basket with. If you don't know much about it, ask for assistance from a sales associate at your local craft supply store.

~For the movie mom, you could include a few movies, some popcorn and other favorite treats, a cozy blanket and pillow, and a gift certificate to the local video rental store. She will appreciate being able to stop the real world and enter the Hollywood one for a while.

~For the foodie mom, how about a basket overflowing with gourmet treats? Pickled asparagus spears, chocolates, tea cookies and other yummies can be picked up at a gourmet food store and they are usually packaged beautifully to give your basket an aesthetic appeal.

Gift baskets are a great way to show mom that you appreciate all she does for you and want to give back something that she can really enjoy. Find something that she loves and create a basket theme. Put it together and wrap it in cellophane with a pretty bow at the top. Attach a card and present it with love and a hug. She'll love the thoughtfulness you put into it and as always, she'll love you!
