The Miami International Film Festival (MIFF) is organized by the Miami Dade College to promote cultural understanding, and encourage professional artistic excellence through film making. The festival brings together much of the worlds high class and top rated cinema's to Miami in a spirit of multiculturalism. MIFF official address is 25 NE 2nd Street # 550, Miami, FL 33132.
The MIFF programs are also supported by the Miami Film Society. The Miami Film Society was established in 1984; to organize various film agencies in the Miami community to share in the unique experience of cinema.
The MIFF has hosted a wide variety of films since its existence and annually hosts hundreds of filmmakers, producers, directors, writers, actors, and industry representatives from across the world for film screening. MIFF also receives active support from hundreds of national, regional and international organizations. These include: filmmakers, Luc Besson, Pedro Almodovar, Spike Lee and Wim Wenders; distributors such as HBO, Fox Searchlight and Miramax; in addition to Wachovia, Port Miami, Miami Sequarium, Miami Beach, Miami Dade, The Miami Herald, American Airlines and Kodak.
The MIFF screen films at various unique venues such as, the Gusman Centre for the Performing Arts, The Colony Theatre in South Beach's Art Deco district, and the Tower Theatre in the Little Havana neighborhood.
