Nighttime blues on a cold dark night.
Black ally-cat 'neath the pale moonlight.
Tree branches sway, cat runs away,
Nighttime blues on a cold dark night.
Nighttime blues under bright starlight.
Dark shadows flicker under dim streetlight.
City of sin, clouds roll in.
Nighttime blues under bright starlight.
Nighttime blues on a busy sidewalk.
Bright neon signs everywhere you walk.
Street vendors call, raindrops fall.
Nighttime blues on a busy sidewalk.
Nighttime blues in a crowded place.
Everywhere I look there's a happy face.
Quarter goes in, the big wheel spins.
Nighttime blues in a crowded place.
Nighttime blues in a lonely room.
Alcohol goes to my head too soon.
A nice warm bed where I lay my head.
Nighttime blues in a lonely room.
Nighttime blues in a foggy haze.
Wandering the labyrinth of a changing maze.
Shadows on the wall, demons come to call.
Nighttime blues in a foggy haze.
Nighttime blues in a brain-sick dream.
People riding by on blue moonbeams.
Streetcars fight, trees take flight.
Nighttime blues in a brain sick dream.
Nighttime blues haunt me through the day.
The nemesis of darkness heading my way.
People stop to play, glance my way,
Nighttime blues haunt me through the day.
