Drama and how to deal with it

by Heather

Memories of family drama have always been a huge part of my life. A part of my life that at times, can't seem to fade away fast enough. My memories, many of them, have filled my heart and mind with so much pain, anger and past resentments. Pain that I have yet to let go, anger that seems to take over the best of me, and past resentments that come back to give me one last kick in the bottom. Family drama is just one of those things that will always be here in all our lives. No matter how hard we try to move forward in our lives, there will always be family drama that will hold us back. But, usually only temporary for most of us. A problem that seems to get the best of our emotions at one point of our Young or adult lives.

My personal memories of family drama are by far, some of the hardest and most painful parts of my past. My past has been filled with many loving times, but the drama filled moments are the ones that were most damaging for me. Most of these times were as a child and many came later as I started to become an adult. Family is the most cherished in all the people in the world for me, but at times, they can be so frustrating and cold hearted. Almost as if you were not related at all and could be banished from their lives in an instant. In away that seems so harsh and unforgiving. At the end, you always seem to rectify the problems that began the drama, but in some cases, you may never move forward. Some of my family members are quick to judge. They are determined to know exactly what is best for you. Even though what is best in their minds, is not always what you would have concluded for your self. Some members of my family are so hard headed, much like my self, which makes it more interesting when family drama begins.

Forgiveness is the key to all family drama. With out forgiveness, no one would be able to hold their heads up and move forward in life. I believe that in some cases, family drama teaches us how to be strong in our every day lives. It teaches us that we should respect each other at all costs. That no matter how hard things get with family or friendships, things can always be figured out. Tomorrow is always a new day and times are going to be tough for family no matter what type of drama is heading their direction. Drama is just another reason why we should all think before we make choices. Choices that could help avoid moments of irritability and frustration. Take the time out to sit down with your family and talk everything threw rather than allowing it to get to the next level. Family drama can be heart breaking and traumatic to your very soul. Sometimes, the drama that is created will stay with you for the rest of your life. Better choices can prevent so many of these times and can allow a better tomorrow knowing that still have each other. Family is by far the most important in all our lives and with out it, we would feel an emptiness inside our hearts.
