How the US can be made safer from terrorist attacks

The U.S. can be made much safer by simply following our Constitution once again, especially at the federal level.

The primary purpose of the federal government and the reason that the states united to begin with was for common defense purposes. That actually is and was their primary function. Not globalism, creating new jobs, protecting the country from global warming, nor any other of the functions which it has ursurped from both the states, and the people themselves. Within the Constitution the federal government has specified enumerated powers in order to protect freedom and liberty in this country. That is also their primary purpose. Not to remove those freedom and liberties, but to protect them.

Securing our borders and promoting our sovereignty with respect to our dealings in matters of foreign policy would go far in making this country much safer. The attacks of 9/11 were attacks mainly precipitated by our foreign policy meddling and intervening in civil wars in other countries, and in an allegiance with Israel now sixty years after World War II that defies description and has put the security and safety of America and it's citizens at risk. They would not be killing us, or wish to attack us if we were not over there, that is basic logic. The founder's believed in defensive wars only, and in limiting any foreign engagement to the actual perpetrators and/or country which invaded our shores. George Washington's foreign policy was that of non-interventionism for just such reasons, as was Jefferson who supported the French Revolution but did not get the U.S. involved in their battle after we had fought our own against a represssive government. Neutrality works to protect the country and citizens from the economic devastation and fallout that interventionist wars create. Just look at Switzerland. During World War II, even in the midst of the war in Europe, Switzerland remained neutral and as such although economically impacted as a result indirectly, thrives today with little debt. They had not been directly attacked, so chose a position of neutrality.

Our nation was founded on Godly principles and while the founder's believed in the separation of church and state in order to guarantee religious freedom and hands off policies with respect to private, individual matters within all three major religions is the "just war" theory and provision. Wars are to be conducted only as a last resort, as a defense, and against those who are directly responsible. We are now
