Plastic storage bins and their uses

I love plastic storage bins! Does that sound weird to you? I'm one of those people who stands in the aisles at home improvement stores, touching the bins and commenting on the price you may have noticed me

There is such a great range of storage bins that you can't fail to find one that is right for the job in hand. From tiny little ones in funky colors to huge ones with wheels and flip-top lids, storage has come a long way since we used to beg cardboard boxes from the back of stores and save the tins our biscuits came in!

Small plastic bins

Small bins now come in a variety of great colors, and these are a fabulous way of getting kids to clear up their mess. Buy bins with lids that are attached to the base so that they don't get lost, and choose a color that matches the dcor of your kid's room. These can be used for pens, crayons, make-up puzzle pieces, Kinder Egg figures, Barbie shoes, barettes and hair bands, jewellery, etc.

Of course, these are exactly the things you can use the bins for in your own part of the house. Choose a color to match the home office, and try to find the type of bin that stacks and yet allow you access to the contents from the front. You can then pop all your stationery in there and tuck away any items you don't want on show (like emergency mints or chocolate!) but still have them readily accessible.

Both small and medium plastic bins are great for storing craft items. Check out the range of stacking bins, as you will find a row of smaller bins more useful than one or two large ones. Alternatively, you could stack the smaller ones within a larger one for greater neatness.

Medium sized plastic bins

Medium sized plastic bins are the most useful of all. They can be used in almost any room in the house. Once you have identified a storage problem, check out the range of plastic bins on the Internet to see which ones would be suitable for your particular situation.

Low plastic bins with wheels are fabulous for tucking under furniture such as beds or other furniture. You can fill them up with unused pillows and bed linen, shoes, baby equipment etc. Use them in the kid's bedrooms for putting away little-used toys.

If you have animals, plastic bins are a life-saver. Put one in the back of the car to keep all the dog-walking paraphernalia in (boots, brush, towels, treats etc). Use stacking bins to store your dog food, along with a matching plastic scoop. The beauty of plastic bins is their rigidity you can fill them with any item of any shape and they
