These two were nothing more than ordinary Christian believers who have fallen from grace because of the downfall and deterioration of our fundamental beliefs of marriage and family in this country. The contract of marriage is just that, a contract! Whether your are religious or not the contract is only as good as the people involved. Asthese people grow and develop in life their paths will surely separate and meet many times. They will both arrive and depart the different levels eithertogether or separately through the journey that is life. If you are to address marriage from a stand point of faith in the Lord should you not realize the exact same basis as you do for that faith. Is not faith entirely based upon the principle of ACCEPTANCE. Do we not accept God as our savior. Is it not known that God indeed "ACCEPTS" everyone and that is what makes him GOD? Why is it so difficult to see what a successful marriage is then. In one single word you can define a successful marriage. That word is not Love, nor Faith, nor Honor, nor Belief, nor forgiveness but it is ACCEPTANCE. The same ACCEPTANCE that could bring world peace, an end to racism, an end to hate, an end to indifference, and an end to divorce.
The contract of marriage is no longer worth the paper it is written on because it is so easily broken. It doesn't take the agreement of both parties to dissolve it. It doesn't even take an embarrassing court appearance anymore. It's easier to get out of a marriage than it is to contest a wrongful charge on your credit card. There are no consequences for making a decision that destroys countless lives and has led to the deterioration of the basic family unit that kept this country together for the first 200 years. The term "irreconcilable differences" is a lie in the truest sense of the word. In our current society of "me, me, me" selfishness drives our entire society. As with everything else that has become disposable for personal convenience so has marriage. So we show our selfishness with acts such as this and the children of our country have found these great role models to become self-centered and demonstrate through acts of violence and defiance that were seldom if ever witnessed 30 years ago. Thus the cycle continues.
To think less of God or Faith because someone who shares the word of God has fallen victim to our society is placing you in this exact same position of selfishness. Don't doubt the message because of the messenger. I do agree that marriage should end in only one of two ways the first being death and the second as a prevention of death. If you truly want to help society then promote "ACCEPTANCE" and lead by example.
