Traveling with kids in Myrtle Beach, SC

Dozens of Myrtle Beach attractions and events cater to families traveling with kids. Their appeal touches every age, even the tiniest vacationers. With sixty miles of sandy beaches, a population of 26,600, and 13.8 million visitors each year, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina remains one of the most family-friendly vacation spots in the eastern United States.

Youngsters will get the thrill of their life as they view Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas from the air. This helicopter ride is a family experience memorable at any age, even soothing the littlest rider to sleep.

Youngsters can touch fish, hold horseshoe crabs and explore the hands-on multimedia playground and educational resource center. The whole family will see marine life up close in an 87,000 square foot aquarium. Even infants and toddlers will delight in the array of multicolored Pacific fish.

Wander endless hallways lined with thousands of mirrors that allow kids to see multiple reflections of themselves. Special mirrors distort images making kids and adults look wide and wide ones look tall.

All children love to play in water and at South Carolina's largest water park, no salt or sand gets in their eyes. The bigger ones will take great pleasure in the rides and slides.

In this natural setting, children are invited to observe, touch and feed tigers, primates and other endangered jungle animals.

An entire world is at a child's fingertips. At CMSC, kids from early childhood to ages 11-12 engage in hands-on science, history and math activities, and even get to stand inside a life-size bubble.

Family fun by the sea. Bumper cars, a carousel and a miniature locomotive are among the rides that will appeal to younger children.
