The different types of Internet scams

Take action against scams! It's time the internet community as a whole did something about it.

The internet provides many opportunities for businesses and individuals to make money. Unfortunately, some individuals have taken advantage of many innocent internet users who also want to make money an easy way' and have created scams.

Surely everyone knows about the links like "Get paid to type at home" and "Earn $1000 per day" and "Learn the Secrets to Making $". Many of these sites request a one off payment to be made and often users will never see that cash again. Often the catch phrase will sound too good to be true in the real world but internet users seeking to make cash seem to feel that in cyberspace things will be different.

Unfortunately cyberspace is even less regulated than we may like to admit but reality is central authorities are physically unable to keep up with all these scam sites. Posting bad press on blogs, anti-viral software and other scam registering sites also does little to rid the internet of them. When one is found out another is set up under a different guise. Even the impressive sophistication of search engines is unable to filter out the scams. The other pitfall is that scams are not recognised until several people have been scammed.

Maybe, it is up to the users and readers to assist with sending these types of sites out of business.

There are countless voluntary writers out there contributing quality information to countless beneficial websites. Website development is not always about promoting a business. It is often driven by a passion for sharing some valuable information. A large percentage of writers and site owners do not receive any compensation from readers other than a small commission from advertising on their web pages.

If readers click on the links, it costs the reader nothing but can make a difference to the writer and the owner of the site. The more the readers click on the links, the more the owners of those scams have to pay the providers of the links. If the owners of the scam links have to pay too much for advertising and are not receiving any revenue, it is likely that they will stop marketing the site and shut down.

So, help get rid of those scams and show your appreciation for content that you find beneficial! If you think something is good, click on as many scam links as you have time for on all informative web pages. Remember never to fall in their traps and sign up!
