I came across this particular discussion quite by accident. Everything I say therefore is completely off-the-cuff. To begin with Anne Coulter is something of an icon. And deservedly so. On a personal level, I say this more because she articulates my thoughts brilliantly. On a general level, Anne Coulter is the perfect antidote to the muck served up by mainstream media (CNNCBSABC) which has failed as a public service in the most disgraceful way possible.

Indeed, it is easy to spot people whose diet comprises shallow mainstream media (MSM) fare. They are the ones who consider Coulter a 'joke' and a bad idea. They are the ones who spit out vitriol every time Coulter is mentioned. Mind you, they will rarely say anything about Ann Coulter's ideas and thoughts beyond calling her names. The reason for this is very simple: they have no intellectual or ideological counter. Not because they're incapable of articulating themselves but because they are, for the most part, intellectuallly and ideologically bankrupt themselves. So, they'll lie about anyone who doesn't subscribe to their narrow views.

They'll cheat, rob, steal and slime opponents until they achieve positions of authority. (If you feel I've just described the Democrats, I don't blame you). Anne Coulter sees through all this and, in her own inimitable style, exposes these frauds for what they are. This skinny, beautiful and sharp-as-a-tack columnist has been your average liberal's worst nightmare for a reason that's based more on left-lib arrogance than anything else. The hubris stems from the holier-than-thou attitude of members of the left-lib. "We're the good guys!" they crow constantly. "We're progressive, so we are ALWAYS right! How dare anyone criticise us!" This attitude becomes dangerous when they begin to believe their own propaganda and decide the end justifies the means.

But Anne Coulter, and the reaction to her barbed, witty and hard-hitting truths, reveal a deeper malaise that grips American politics.
The last Presidential elections brought home this reality better than any other event in recent history.

As soon as Sarah Palin was picked as Vice Presidential running mate, MSM reacted proceeded to examine Palin's past with a fine tooth comb. They talked with everyone remotely connected with Palin, feverishly digging up dirt on the woman.
