The best contraceptive would be the one God gives us. It will take a while to get used to it, as with other concraceptive devices and methods, but it will be most foolproof. However, as with all contraceptives, God's will still reigns supreme. What is this best contraceptive? It is called the temperature method.
First, the woman tracks her ovulation cycle by taking her temperature while she is still in bed once she gets up. If there is an increase of below 1 degree Celcius, it is likely the ovulation period, and the most likely time to get pregnant. Avoid sexual activities, or if not able to abstain from having sex, use the next best method such as condom, ejaculation outside the body and so on for the next few days until the temperature drops again.
Not surprisingly, the same temperature method is also used to determine the most productive period to make a baby and possibly, the sex of the baby.
Over a period of a few months, those with regular ovulation periods will know when to have or not to have sex. A pattern of temperature rise can be established by tracking over a period of two to three months. For the others with irregular menstrual periods, hard luck, just pop the thermometer into your mouth daily. It would not inconvenience you at all but give you an excuse to stay in bed for a few more seconds.
Why is the temperature method the best contraceptive to use? Firstly, it is fool-proof. If you have a fever or an infection, your temperature will not soar by point something of a degree Celsius but by one or more degree Celsius. A slight rise in temperature of less than a degree Celsius is indicative that you are ovulating and a sure period to try and get pregnant or stay clear of sex to avoid being pregnant.
Next, no external aid is needed if both can practise abstinence from sex. There is no need for vaginal abrasions caused by badly manufactured condoms, no fear of accidental spillage from badly produced condoms. The discomfort that a female who is placed under an intro-uterine device (IUD) contraceptive method has to bear, is also absent.
Thirdly, the act of contraception is easily reversed without any medical expenses. If fallopian tubes have to be tied to prevent a pregnancy, there may be risks such as ovarian cancer. Moreover, if in latter life stages, the couple decides to conceive again, it may not be possible without another surgery. The temperature method however ensures that neither the male nor the female need to go under the knife and both partners and thus spared both the physical and emotional scars of surgery.
Contraceptive pills and menstrual regulatory pills both mean the same to the woman: your body is invaded by chemicals that will change your hormonal balance. In the long run when you finally decide to have a baby, it may not be possible for you to have your bodily functions in tip-top condition as easily as when you start popping the pill.
Saying 'no' on the the woman's part may not be a hundred percent sex-proof as male perverts may be turned on even more by refusal to their offers of sex.
Finally, the cost of a good thermometer is much less than the accumulated dollars spent on condoms and the thousands spent on surgery to close the womb. Since abstinence is by mutual consent, it is the ultimate act of love between a couple. There is no blame to be had if an accidental conception occurs. Responsibility is to be shared by both partners.
What is the best contraceptive? It will have to be the temperature method which seems the safest and most fool-proof method when compared to other contraceptives used today.
