Basketball brawls: The 'thug mentality' of the NBA

Me and a buddy of mine shared a laugh the other day concerning the brawl between the Knicks and the Nuggets earlier this season. We thought what if Carmelo Anthony during his 15-game suspension inwardly thanked the commissioner for giving him about a one month vacation to rest up for the home-stretch of the season. He's probably wondering who he could punch next season to get some extra time off. We were just joking at the time but it made some sense because aside from the money he lost (which is just a drop in the bucket for him) his body could have used the rest from the busy summer he had with team USA. The commissioner should do what the NFL does and make players still have to play games while hurting their pockets. Before long players who can afford it will get wise to the idea of making a hit list to get someone back for being too physical so they can get a few games rest. Just kidding, professional athletes are too competitive to think that foolishly. I'll still be watching to see who the Nuggets play next year around December-January.
