Okay, for starters this is a touchy subject with many people. Everybody has their own opinion about wether it is right or not but you have to step back and look at what is best at some point. There comes a time when you have to decide if the teens of today are better off with this option or not. I will give you my opinion on wether or not condoms should be given by public organizations and schools.

I do think they should be given to teens by responsible adults who have the time to sit down and have a talk with them as they are distributed. To be distributed without the appropriate guidance would be wrong. Although I seriously doubt any public organization or school would give something of this magnitude out with no guidance. Let me start out by telling you the main reason I think it should be allowed and then I will tell you all the other reasons.

For starters, very few parents are taking the responsibility to teach their kids about sex, protecting themselves from pregnancy and disease. If a kid isn't educated in something then how do you expect them to be safe while either doing it or not doing it. I wouldn't put a kid who has no training in a room full of chemicals and expect him/her to make something with them. That would be dumb. You also have to think about it... If my kids are never given condoms then I guess they will never have sex.. Right? Yeah whatever. Kids are going to do things wether you approve them or not at times. I would rather my kids be aware and have knowledge of what they are getting into than to go into it blind, not knowing anything. If I have a kid who knows the chances of getting a disease from having sex and knows the chance of getting pregnant or getting her pregnant then I feel they would be less likely to have sex. If I have a teen who is determined to do whatever it is they choose I would rather them go into it protected than not protected. You have to do what is best for your kids even if that is not always what you would perfer.

It is about time people stop trying to make up reaosns to walk around pretending their kids are innocent, or that protecting them is saying it is okay to have sex, condoms do not protect you from diseases only pregnancy, etc. Hopefully when the public schools start teaching our kids what the parents should be teaching them some of the parents will open their eyes. Maybe some of the parents should go in and get lessons on protection as well. It is time parents realize that there are things our kids will
