*My destiny*
(Verse 1)
I remember my carefree days playing,
when I was just a little girl.
I had tea sets and dolls.
I was living in a Barbie world.
I just knew that I was a princess.
I thought I would live in a castle someday.
I waited with baited breath-
for my knight to come sweep me away.
(Chorus)
I have never been sure what the future holds for me.
Still, I am convinced I will find my destiny.
I learn more with each passing day-
Yet, I doubt I will ever know the way.
With each new mystery that unfolds-
I discover a secret I didn't know.
It has already been said
The future is laid out for me.
Someday, somewhere lays my destiny.
(Verse 2)
The years of my youth seemed to pass by so quick.
I broke every rule- and learned every trick.
I made up my mind
and then changed my plans.
I made decisions-
that I still don't understand.
As time progressed,
I only became confused more.
Often I find myself wondering...
what this life is for.
(Chorus)
I have never been sure what the future holds for me.
Still, I am convinced I will find my destiny.
I learn more with each passing day-
Yet, I doubt I will ever know the way.
With each new mystery that unfolds-
I discover a secret I didn't know.
It has already been said
The future is laid out for me.
Someday, somewhere lays my destiny.
(Verse 3)
Many days I worry and most nights I lay awake.
I think back to every mistake.
Just when life is going good,
Things turn to dust.
I get so frustrated
I scream and I cuss.
It hasn't killed me but I don't feel much stronger
I can't help but wonder if it will be any longer
(Chorus)
I have never been sure what the future holds for me.
Still, I am convinced I will find my destiny.
I learn more with each passing day-
Yet, I doubt I will ever know the way.
With each new mystery that unfolds-
I discover a secret I didn't know.
It has already been said
The future is laid out for me.
Someday, somewhere lays my destiny.
