is quite the thief. These mischievous creatures explore their environment and will take objects many times hiding them in odd locations. Nothing is sacred to the ferret. If it is within reach, the ferret will claim it and quickly scamper away with their newly acquired treasure sometimes leaving owners with missing keys, phones, and even money. More times than not, these items will be found in hiding spots throughout the home like under furniture or even in dryer vents.

Other characteristics of the ferret which aren't as attractive include burrowing and even biting. While some may see these as behavior problems, they are actually typical characteristics of the ferret and can be controlled by a patient and knowledgeable ferret owner. With their comical and entertaining personalities, it can sometimes be easy to forget about the high intelligence of this popular pet.
