Songs: True love

by Ted Sherman

Pay heed, all you young lovers out there: What you have is something rare, But there's no more true love melody That sings the virtues of fidelity.

Only the obscenity of hip hops About beating ho's and shooting cops. Who needs the trash can noise of rock? Give me Brahms, Beethoven and Bach.

Instead of guys who must need needles, Like Elvis, Stones and the Beatles, We want the songs of Nat King Cole And all the others with true love soul;

Plus Dino, Frankie and Peggy Lee Whose songs are filled with harmony. And lyrics gentle as a rose's petal, Instead of the discord of heavy metal.

Love lyrics are made by fools like me, But what's needed now's a new Pavarotti. Singing ltrue love arias to adoring ladies, And I'd send today's squawkers staight to Hades!
