There is really no definite way of knowing you're gay. Some realize it at an early age and, like me, this came to my attention when I was about 14 when I noticed that none of the other boys were attracted to men like I was. Besides that I heard how other guys my age talk about what they called "fags."

Thinking back on my childhood I was very much attracted to guys, both sexually (perhaps not in the more mature sense but I did in fact notice how very appealing a man's body was) and emotionally.

It is not so much that there are signs but more than a feeling that something about you is wrong, or unlike others. Either way, something felt off. I had this feeling for years and feared for my safety in my high school locker room, as well as other places, often keeping my head down so that no one would think I was looking at them in a "queer" way.

I cannot really give any other advice, despite my experiences as a gay man. But trust me, if you are you will know. If you are still confused take life as it comes. If you fall in love with a woman, so be it, and if you fall for a man, take him.
